$105 million to repair flood damaged recreational assets
Extraordinary disaster assistance of $105 million is now available to local councils and state agencies to clean up and repair community and recreational assets damaged in the major floods of the 2021-22 disaster season.
Expressions of Interest are now open for the funding, which is available to councils and state agencies in 37 flood-affected local government areas.
Public parks, reserves and playgrounds are just some of the assets covered under the $100 million package.
In addition, $5 million dollars will go towards recreational assets within national parks.
The assistance, provided via the joint Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) will contribute to restoring social and community networks to boost the economic recovery of local communities.
