A range of assistance measures have been activated under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) to address the immediate effects of the 2025-26 Queensland Monsoon Trough, Cyclone Koji, Cyclone Narelle and Severe Weather, 24 December 2025 – 24 April 2026 event.

Operation Queenslander Implementation Plan is the state recovery plan following the devastating events of 2010-11 when 99% of our state was affected by floods and cyclones, occurring between September 2010 and April 2011.
An active monsoon season and a number of slow-moving low-pressure systems produced exceptionally heavy rainfall across the north of the state from late December 2022 into March 2023. Severe thunderstorms and intense, persistent rainfall led to significant impacts across many northern and central Queensland communities.
