About the Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments
The Queensland Government is committed to strengthening disaster resilience so our communities are better equipped to deal with the increasing prevalence of natural disasters.
The United Nations Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 (external link) was adopted by the United Nations Member States in 2015. The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (external link) incentivise stakeholders to share commitments and initiatives towards the implementation of the Sendai Framework, and in turn the UNDRR can monitor progress and impact.
Under the UNDRR Sendai Framework, Queensland has three current voluntary commitments and one completed voluntary commitment.
