3D disaster animations highlight severe weather in Queensland

Get Ready Queensland has partnered up with the Bureau of Meteorology to officially launch a series of 3D disaster animations that graphically show how weather events can fast become dangerous.

These hyper-realistic videos place viewers at the centre of Queensland’s most frequent natural disasters – severe storms, cyclones and flooding – highlighting the risks of extreme weather.

With the BOM declaring a Lina Nina weather pattern this season, it’s as important as ever to be prepared before any potential disaster strikes.

These animations simulate in amazing detail the intensity, impact and speed extreme weather events can hit in Queensland.

Get Ready Queensland’s latest research shows more than 40 per cent of Queenslanders will wait until a disaster event is almost upon them before they take steps to prepare, which is often too late.

We encourage all Queenslanders to have a look at these videos and then take the steps they need to protect what’s most important to them.

Go to www.getready.qld.gov.au to watch the videos and find all the resources you need to get ready this season.
