Applications open for disaster resilience and risk reduction funding in Queensland

Queensland communities can now apply for a share of more than $13 million in funding to help them better prepare for future disasters through the Queensland Resilience and Risk Reduction Fund (QRRRF).

The funding has been made available as part of the Commonwealth and Queensland Government’s five-year commitment to build safer and more resilient communities.

Eligible applicants include local governments, Queensland Government departments and agencies, and incorporated not-for-profit organisations.

Successful projects will support the objectives of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Framework and Queensland Strategy for Disaster Resilience to reduce the risk and limit the impact of disasters now and into the future.

A total of $13.1 million is available in this round of Queensland Resilience and Risk Reduction Fund comprising of $4.8 million from the Commonwealth Government and $8.3 million from the Queensland Government.

The Queensland Resilience and Risk Reduction Fund is administered by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority.

Applications for the Queensland Resilience and Risk Reduction Fund close on Wednesday 22 July 2020. Successful applicants will have two years from approval to deliver projects. To apply, go to the www.qra.qld.gov.au/QRRRF.
