2021-22 Rainfall and Flooding - For small businesses, not-for profit organisations and sporting and community clubs
Three significant events occurred across the 2021-22 Rainfall and Flooding season:
- Central, Southern and Western Queensland Rainfall and Flooding, 10 November – 3 December 2021
- Ex-Tropical Cyclone Seth, 29 December 2021 – 10 January 2022
- South East Queensland Rainfall and Flooding, 22 February – 7 March 2022
- Southern Queensland Flooding, 6 - 20 May 2022
A range of assistance has been activated through the joint State and Commonwealth Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) to address the immediate and long-term impacts from the events.
Grant funding
Extraordinary disaster assistance grants have been made available to flood-affected primary producers, small businesses, not-for-profit organisations following the three events. Grants have also been made available to sporting and community clubs impacted by the South East Queensland Rainfall and Flooding.
Extraordinary assistance grants of up to $50,000 are available to small businesses and not-for-profit organisations (External link) to go towards clean-up and repair efforts. People can apply for the grants through the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority website (External link).
Grants are available in the following five local government areas:
- Balonne
- Gympie
- Lockyer Valley
- Moreton Bay
- Somerset
- Southern Downs
- Toowoomba
- Western Downs
Extraordinary assistance grants of up to $50,000 are available to small businesses and not-for-profit organisations (External link) to go towards clean-up and repair efforts. People can apply for the small business and not-for-profit grants through the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority website (External link).
Extraordinary assistance grants of up to $20,000 are available to sporting and community clubs (External link) to go towards repairing damaged infrastructure and fields, and replacing lost equipment. Sporting and community clubs can apply for these grants through the Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport website (External link).
