Emergency Fodder Support Package 2025 Western Queensland Trough

About

The $12 million Emergency Fodder Support Package is available to eligible primary producers impacted by the  Western Queensland Surface Trough and Associated Rainfall and Flooding event, commencing 21 March 2025 event. For this event, demand for fodder has seen an additional $7 million put towards the previously announced $5 million Emergency Fodder Support Package, taking total investment to $12 million. Fodder can be used to sustain livestock and mitigate the impacts of flooding and loss of pasture in areas impacted by the floods.

Eligible councils

Eligible local government areas include only local government areas activated for the Exceptional Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants for Primary Producers. Refer to the activation summary for the Western Queensland Surface Trough and Associated Rainfall and Flooding, commencing 21 March 2025 event. 

Funding acknowledgement

This program is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments under the joint Commonwealth-state Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) to support Queensland communities in their recovery from the Western Queensland Surface Trough and Associated Rainfall and Flooding event, commencing 21 March 2025 event.

Administering agency

Department of Primary Industries (DPI). 

Producers wishing to access the Emergency Fodder Support Package should contact their relevant local council to discuss arrangements for distribution.
