10 Years of Recovery and Resilience

About QRA's 10 year anniversary
The Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) was established in February 2011 following the devastating flooding and Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasi that battered the state in the summer of 2010-11.
Since then, QRA has managed a recovery and reconstruction program worth more than $16.4 billion across more than 80 disaster events, partnering with councils and state agencies to deliver best practice administration of public reconstruction and resilience funds.
In 2015, the Queensland Government made QRA Australia’s first permanent disaster recovery agency, expanding its role to become lead agency for disaster recovery, resilience and mitigation policy.
In 2021, QRA marked our 10-year anniversary and we look forward to continuing to work with councils and other stakeholders to support community recovery, reconstruction and resilience.
