Community Relief Fund - 2025 Western Queensland Surface Trough

About

The $12 million Community Relief Fund is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments to support Queensland communities in their clean-up efforts from the Western Queensland Surface Trough and Associated Rainfall and Flooding, 21 March - 19 May 2025 event.

The Community Relief Fund is available to impacted councils to undertake essential immediate recovery activities. Funding of up to $1 million per local government area is available.

The package provides timely and immediate support to impacted councils to remove waste and debris, clean-up properties, community facilities, playground and parks, and undertake other make safe activities as required by council to progress with local recovery. 

Eligibility

Eligible local government areas include only local government areas activated for the Community Relief Fund. Refer to the activation summary for the Western Queensland Surface Trough and Associated Rainfall and Flooding, 21 March - 19 May 2025 event.

  5. Central Highland Regional Council

  7. Flinders Shire Council

  10. Paroo Shire Council
  11. Quilpie Shire Council
  12. Winton Shire Council
