Disaster assistance activated for Scenic Rim and Logan following Christmas storms

Personal hardship payments are now available to eligible residents of Scenic Rim and Logan suburbs affected by the damaging storms of 25 December, along with a range of other support measures.

Individuals can receive grants of $180 to cover the cost of essentials like food, clothing and medicine, with up to $900 for a family of five or more.

Through the Personal Hardship Assistance Scheme, further support is on offer to return homes to a safe, liveable condition, and to replace household contents.

This will allow councils to push ahead with repairs of roads, bridges and other eligible public infrastructure, and for response and recovery activities like the removal of fallen trees and debris.

For those impacted, please call the Queensland Community Recovery Hotline on 1800 173 349 or visit www.qld.gov.au/disasterhelp.

The Queensland Reconstruction Authority will continue monitoring local recovery efforts and stands ready to activate further DRFA support where required.
