Disaster grant application support available for western Queenslanders
Personalised information sessions are now available for flood affected western Queensland producers, small businesses and not-for-profits to help with applications for crucial disaster assistance.
Run by the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA), the online QRIDA Connect sessions provide those needing support with tailored help when applying for DRFA Disaster Recovery Grants.
QRIDA is administering the grants to assist western Queensland communities coming to terms with the impacts of this year’s catastrophic floods.
Funded by the Queensland and Australian Governments through the joint Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), grants up to $75,000 for primary producers and up to $50,000 for small businesses and not-for-profits are available.
With access to disaster assistance more important than ever, QRIDA now has a dedicated team providing one-on-one support for outback grant applicants.
Sessions can be online or face-to-face, allowing those impacted to speak directly with a QRIDA representative who can talk them through available assistance and how to apply.
QRIDA Connect sessions can be booked by calling 1800 623 946, with flexible time slots available.
To ensure a smooth process, applicants are asked to have the following items ready for their online QRIDA Connect session:
- Financial statements and tax return
- Rates notice or lease agreement
- A minimum of five photographs capturing the damage
- Evidence of payment
- Details regarding insurance coverage
