More flood support for Queensland farmers and small businesses

Additional grants and loans are now available for flood-affected primary producers, small businesses and sporting and community clubs to help them get back on their feet following the recent floods through South-East Queensland.

The additional support, provided through the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), includes grants of up to $75,000 for primary producers, $50,000 for small businesses and not-for-profits and $20,000 for sporting and community clubs. Low interest loans of up to $250,000 are also available.

Following the extension of the DRFA, eligible primary producers in Bundaberg, Cherbourg, Goondiwindi and Western Downs local government areas can access extraordinary assistance grants of up to $75,000,  concessional loans up to $250,000, essential working capital loans of up to $100,000 and freight subsidies of up to $5,000.

In addition, small businesses in Dalby who experienced flooding through their premises can access extraordinary assistance grants of up to $50,000 to see them through the hard times.

Not-for-profit organisations in Balonne, Bundaberg, Cherbourg and Western Downs will also now be able to access grants of up to $50,000.

The extension of these supports means those in need of support following the devastating floods are receiving it.

The Australian and Queensland Governments are focused on giving primary producers, small businesses and not-for-profits the tools they need to clean-up, rebuild and keep operating.

In addition, sporting and community clubs and associations in Bundaberg, Cherbourg, Goondiwindi and Western Downs areas which have been affected by these floods can now access assistance of up to $20,000 to repair damaged infrastructure and replace lost equipment.

This activation is critical to providing financial support so that hardworking communities can begin to recover from the floods.
