Bushfire Recovery Grants now available in Central Queensland
Communities impacted by the Central Queensland Bushfires have received more than $1 million to fund community recovery and resilience projects.
These grants will support Central Queensland organisations and local councils to help their communities recover from the fires and build resilience in the face of future disasters.
The Department of Communities, Disability Services and Seniors will administer the funding.
Projects include child-friendly education programs, bushfire evacuation planning and upgrades to local evacuation centres.
Congratulations to all recipients including Volunteering Queensland, Rockhampton Regional Council and Mackay Regional Council.
The bushfire recovery grants have been jointly funded by the Commonwealth and Queensland Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
