Applications open for the Queensland Disaster Resilience Fund

Local governments, state agencies and non-government organisations can now apply for a share of the $38 million Queensland Disaster Resilience Fund (QDRF) for initiatives that will better protect Queensland communities from natural disasters.

The QDRF will be delivered over four years with $9.5 million available in this first round of funding.

Eligible applicants to QDRF include local government bodies, Queensland Government departments and agencies, as well as incorporated non-government organisations and Queensland-based not-for-profit organisations.

The QDRF will support opportunities identified by applicants that build community resilience to disasters including flooding, cyclones and bushfires. This includes infrastructure projects as well as other initiatives, such as regional resilience plans and public education programs.

Applications for the Queensland Disaster Resilience Fund close on 18 April 2019.
