Program purpose
To assist the region to recover after the Queensland Bushfires, September - December 2019, a Community Recovery Package was made available and funded by the Commonwealth and State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements under Category C. The package included the Mental Health Recovery Program.
The purpose of the Mental Health Recovery Program was to improve the health of those adversely affected by bushfires in September – December 2019 and to enhance the resilience of affected communities.
Queensland Health led implementation of the Program with administrative support from the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA).
Program status
The program concluded in June 2022.

Outcomes achieved:
- 456 referrals
- 700 hours of clinical service provided between September 2020 to June 2021
- 13 fully funded positions over 15 months
- 623 community events attended
- 205 training session held.
