Disaster assistance has now been extended to Bundaberg, North Burnett and South Burnett Regional Councils following the recent floods associated with ex-Tropical Cyclone Seth.

Former Governor of Queensland Paul de Jersey has been appointed State Recovery Coordinator in response to Ex-Tropical Cyclone Seth flooding event that has caused devastation through the Wide Bay and Burnett region.

A range of disaster assistance measures are now available in the local government areas of Bundaberg, Cherbourg, Fraser Coast, Gympie, North Burnett and South Burnett following the devastating heavy rainfall and flooding associated with ex-Tropical Cyclone Seth from 7 – 10 January 2022.

Extraordinary assistance grants up to $50,000 for primary producers and up to $25,000 for small businesses hit by recent floods in central, southern and western Queensland are now available.

Queensland’s tourism industry received a major boost today with the official opening of Whitsunday Regional Council’s new world-class Shute Harbour Marine Terminal.

Critical disaster assistance will now flow to flood-affected primary producers in central, southern and western Queensland through the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
