Betterment: Upper Mount Bentley Road

Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council

Upper Mount Bentley Road on Palm Island provides the only access to the telecommunications tower located at the peak of Mount Bentley other than via helicopter.

Betterment: Inverdon Bridge

Whitsunday Regional Council

The original Inverdon Bridge was a low-level timber structure across the Don River at Bowen. It was originally built in 1940 and suffered deterioration over many years.

Betterment: Weipa-Mapoon Road

Mapoon Aboriginal Shire Council

Weipa-Mapoon Road was a gravel formed road that provided the only access from the Mapoon community to the Peninsula Developmental Road.

Betterment: Gordonbrook Dam

South Burnett Regional Council

The Gordonbrook Dam is the main water supply reservoir for the town of Kingaroy and has a surface area of 236 hectares and an average depth of 2.8 metres, holding approximately 6,600 mega-litres of water.

Betterment: Richmond Road

Croydon Shire Council

Richmond Road runs south from Gulf Development Road towards the Flinders Highway in Croydon Shire, providing an important transport link for local residents and primary producers.
