Community Education and Information Program
Program purpose
To assist the region to recover after the North and Far North Queensland Monsoon Trough – 25 January to 14 February 2019 (Monsoon Trough), a Community Recovery Package was made available and funded by the Commonwealth and State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements under Category C. The package included the Community Information and Education Program.
The Community Information and Education Program was designed to enhance disaster risk reduction across the impacted region, along with developing resilience and preparedness, to ensure communities are aware of the importance of preparing for disasters and reducing their disaster risks.
Program status
The program concluded in June 2021.
Administering agency
The Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) and Queensland Health (QH) led implementation and administration of the Program.
