North West Queensland Beef Recovery Package
Program purpose
To assist the region to recover after the North and Far North Queensland Monsoon Trough – 25 January to 14 February 2019 (Monsoon Trough), a Community Recovery Package was made available and funded by the Commonwealth and State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements under Category D. The package included the North West Queensland Beef Recovery Package.
The purpose of the North West Queensland Beef Recovery Package was to assist primary producers and related industries that had been impacted by the devastating effects of the North and Far North Queensland Monsoon Trough. Disaster recovery in primary industries includes the need for financial assistance, financial counselling and industry assistance programs.
Program status
The program concluded in June 2021.
Administering agency
The Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) led the implementation of the program with administrative support from the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA).
