Resilience funding media and public acknowledgement requirements

Recipients of resilience funding from the Commonwealth and/or Queensland Government are required to acknowledge the source of funding.

All relevant media releases, media responses, planned events, social media, public notices or signage must be approved by QRA, which will also facilitate further state and federal government approvals where required.

Checklist for public acknowledgement of Commonwealth and/or state assistance

  • Joint media release
    • Any announcement relating to a funded project must be made through a joint media release unless otherwise agreed to by the state and Commonwealth.
  • Publicity activities
    • The recipient of funding must give the state and Commonwealth the opportunity to participate in any publicity activities, via QRA.
  • Prior agreement
    • Recipients must reach prior agreement with the state and Commonwealth on the nature and content of any subsequent events, announcements, promotional materials or publicity relating to any assistance measures.
  • Wording
    • When referencing the government(s) in media releases, speeches or other materials, please use Australian  Government (not Commonwealth Government) and Queensland Government.
    • When formally acknowledging funding on media and other communication materials please use: “Assistance provided by the <insert government(s) name> under the <insert funding/program name>."
  • Logos
    • Place logos on the bottom of all relevant marketing and communication materials.
    • Please use the Australian Government logo on the left-hand side, the Queensland Government logo in the middle, and your organisation’s logo on the right.
  • Social media
    • If promoting funded projects, programs or activities across social media, please tag the Queensland Reconstruction Authority, the National Emergency Management Agency, and other relevant organisations.
    • Funding acknowledgements can be made either in the post text or via a post caption. Feel free to also use relevant hashtags on platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Timings
    • Sufficient time should be given for QRA to facilitate all relevant approvals.
    • Please note that failure to seek approval of media, communications and promotional materials relating to resilience funding may breach a program’s funding requirements.
