The $20 million Community and Recreational Assets Recovery Program aims to repair and rebuild affected community and recreational facilities damaged by the North and Far North Tropical Low, commencing 29 January 2025 event through a grants-based Recovery Program. Applications for funding will be prioritised based on the importance of the asset to the local community, including the social and economic benefits.

The following councils may be eligible for program funding:

- Etheridge Shire Council
- Flinders Shire Council
- Hinchinbrook Shire Council
- Hope Vale Aboriginal Shire Council

- Longreach Shire Council
- McKinlay Shire Council
- Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council
- Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council

Funding acknowledgement
The $20 million Community and Recreational Assets Recovery Program is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) Category C, to support Queensland communities in their recovery from the North and Far North Tropical Low, commencing 29 January 2025 event.
