The $9.7 million Mental Health Disaster Recovery Package, established following the North and Far North Tropical Low, 29 January – 28 February 2025, provides individual and family therapeutic interventions across the continuum of care for people that have been directly impacted by the event, mitigating mental health impacts by ensuring:
- affected community members have the knowledge, skills and resources to assist in their psychological recovery from the disaster impacts
- affected community members can access a range of psychological support and mental health services appropriate to their needs delivered in a timely way
- communities develop and sustain the disaster mental health supports and services needed
- community members and community-based organisations can participate in resilience-based activities to foster better psychological preparedness for future disaster events.

- Charters Towers Regional Council
- Cook Shire Council
- Flinders Shire Council
- Hinchinbrook Shire Council
- Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council
- Townsville City Council
- Whitsunday Regional Council
- Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Council
