Environmental Recovery - 2025 North and Far North Queensland Tropical Low

About

The $75.1 million Environmental Recovery Package is being delivered in two stages to support recovery to improve the condition of the catchments and associated ecological processes and cultural values in the impacted regions, and the protection and use of the State’s national parks immediately following the North and Far North Tropical Low, 29 January – 28 February 2025

Stage one funding of $2.1 million will be delivered through the following initiative: 

  1. Environmental Cleanup and Local Conservation Grants initiative.

Stage two funding of $73 million will be delivered through the following initiatives:   

  1. Catchment and Coastline Rehabilitation
  2. National Park Recovery
  3. Environmental and Cultural Asset Support .

Objective

The objective of the package is to support recovery, improve condition and build resilience in the impacted environments, including catchments and coastlines and the associated ecological processes, and protect environmental and cultural assets.
