Rural Landholder Recovery - $3 million

Purpose

The Rural Landholder Recovery Grants Scheme was developed to alleviate personal and financial distress, and assist in the recovery of rural landholders that had suffered direct damage to their assets as a result of flooding events during the 2021-22 disaster season.

The program provided financial support to assist with the extraordinary clean-up and reinstatement activities on rural residential properties and supported access to clean water, feed and safe fenced properties.

Status

This program is now closed. There are more than 20 successful applicants to date.

Administering agency

Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA).

Eligible applicants

Private landholders on land of at least 10 hectares (earning at least $20,000 per annum from a primary production enterprise on the affected property and who hold an ABN) in the local government areas (LGAs) activated for assistance following these events:

• Central, Southern and Western Queensland Rainfall and Flooding, 10 November - 3 December 2021
• Ex-Tropical Cyclone Seth, 29 December 2021 - 10 January 2022
• South East Queensland Rainfall and Flooding, 22 February - 5 April 2022
• Southern Queensland Flooding, 6 - 20 May 2022

Funding acknowledgement

$3 million jointly funded (50:50) by the Queensland and Australian Governments under Category D of the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
