Mental Health Recovery Program - 2025-26 Flooding and severe weather

The $4.25 million Mental Health Program will fund psychosocial health and wellbeing initiatives following the Queensland Monsoon Trough, Cyclone Koji, Cyclone Narelle and Severe Weather, commencing 24 December 2025 event, for flood affected communities and vulnerable Queenslanders.

Eligibility

The following list of local government areas include only local government areas eligible for this funding program:

  2. Burke Shire Council
  3. Carpentaria Shire Council
  4. Cassowary Coast Regional Council
  5. Cloncurry Shire Council
  6. Cook Shire Council
  7. Croydon Shire Council
  8. Doomadgee Aboriginal Shire Council
  9. Douglas Shire Council
  10. Etheridge Shire Council
  11. McKinlay Shire Council
  12. Mornington Shire Council
  13. Mt Isa City Council
  14. Pormpuraaw Aboriginal Shire Council
  15. Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Council"

Funding acknowledgement

The package is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments to support Queensland communities in their recovery from Queensland Monsoon Trough, Cyclone Koji, Cyclone Narelle and Severe Weather, 24 December 2025 to 24 April 2026 event.
