About the DRFA exceptional circumstances packages
The 2025-26 Flooding and severe weather events includes a suite of exceptional circumstances funding developed to support those severely impacted by the Queensland Monsoon Trough, Cyclone Koji, Cyclone Narelle and Severe Weather, 24 December 2025 to 24 April 2026 event.

To date, the following DRFA exceptional circumstances package components have been announced:
Environment
The Community Relief Fund is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments to support Queensland communities in their clean-up efforts following an event.
The Environmental Recovery Program will support recovery, improve the condition of (and build resilience into) the impacted national park environments following the event.
Economic
Funding for emergency fodder support to sustain livestock and mitigate the impacts of flooding and loss of pasture in areas impacted by the floods.
Funding for the Cloncurry Airport Recovery and Renewal Project damaged as a result of the Queensland Monsoon Trough, Cyclone Koji, Cyclone Narelle, and Severe Weather event.
Up to $75,000 are available for affected primary producers to hire or purchase equipment and materials, clean up, remove debris, replace fencing and other costs associated with the recovery process.
Offering wrap-around care for impacted farmers, with access to financial and human counselling, feral pest and locust management, and industry recovery and resilience officers.
Disaster Recovery Grants for small businesses and not-for-profits to support clean-up, repairs and the replacement of essential equipment and stock to sustain operations and protect jobs.
The Small Business Recovery Assistance Grants are designed to address medium to long term recovery needs where impacts are ongoing and compounding, and where loan-based assistance alone is insufficient to prevent business failure.
Eligible homeowners can access grants of up to $10,000 for works such as raising essential services like electrical switchboards, hot water systems and air-conditioning, data and electrical points, and help protect parts of their homes from flood damage.
Human & Social
The Mental Health Program will fund psychosocial health and wellbeing initiatives for flood affected communities and vulnerable Queenslanders.
The Community and Recreational Assets Program will provide grants to assist with the clean-up and repair of impacted community and recreational facilities.
The Community Development Program to improve the wellbeing of impacted and vulnerable Queenslanders offering rebuilding advice, preparedness initiatives, financial guidance and social services.
The Sport and Recreational Community Facilities Recovery Package will provide grants to assist with the clean-up and repair of impacted sports and recreational community facilities
Roads and Transport
Provides timely support to enable state and local government-owned essential public assets to be restored to a more resilient standard to strengthen northern Queensland.
