The Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) administers disaster resilience funding on behalf of the State of Queensland. Learn about about current and completed resilience funding programs.

Programs - current

North Queensland Resilience Program
A $91.8 million Australian Government funding package to support disaster recovery and resilience activities for northern, Far North and north-west Queensland communities.
Resilience Funding DRF 2
DRF is an Australian Government disaster risk reduction initiative to deliver medium-term and long-term national outcomes. Status: In development with 50 Queensland projects approved (DRF Round One 2023-24 total $84 million).
Emergency Response Fund
ERF is a $75 million Australian Government fund for recovery and post-disaster resilience initiatives to support flood-affected Queensland communities following the 2022 flood events. Status: In delivery with 7 Queensland projects approved.
QRRRF 2022-23
QRRRF is a jointly funded initiative of the Queensland and Australian Governments aimed at reducing, mitigating and managing future disaster risk across the state. The five-year program is in delivery, with more than 220 projects approved for funding.
NQ Floods
The NQNDMP will assist councils in North and Far North Queensland to reduce their disaster risk, and assist in reducing growth of insurance costs for residents, businesses and the community. Status: In delivery with 22 projects approved.

$2 million of Queensland Government funding for Queensland's local governments to improve the resilience of their communities through locally-led resilience initiatives. Status: In delivery with funding available for 77 councils.
Flooded house
The $741 million RHF is for eligible homeowners affected in the 2021-22 floods to provide funding for repair, retrofit, and to raise or buy-back eligible properties. RHF is jointly funded by the Queensland and Australian Governments. Status: Registrations closed, program in delivery.

QDRF (2018-19) delivered a total $9.5 million for projects that strengthen the resilience of Queensland communities and help them better prepare for disasters. Status: 62 projects delivered.

NDRP (2017-18) delivered $14.303 million for projects to reduce Queensland communities’ vulnerability to natural hazards and build community resilience. Status: 72 projects delivered.
