A range of assistance measures have been activated under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) to address the immediate and long-term effects of the SEQ Severe Storms and Rainfall event commencing 24 December 2023.

Burke flooding 2023
An active monsoon season and a number of slow-moving low-pressure systems produced exceptionally heavy rainfall across the north of the state from late December 2022 into March 2023. Severe thunderstorms and intense, persistent rainfall led to significant impacts across many northern and central Queensland communities.
