Extraordinary Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants for small businesses and not-for-profit organisations - $25 million

About

This $25 million package exceptional Circumstances Recovery Grants is for small businesses and not-for-profit organisations who have suffered direct damage from the following eligible events:

  • Tropical Cyclone Jasper, 13 - 28 December 2023
  • South East Queensland Severe storms and rainfall, 24 December 2023 - 3 January 2024

Grants of up to $50,000 are available for directly-impacted small businesses and not-for-profit organisations to hire or purchase equipment and materials, clean up, remove debris, replace or repair damaged infrastructure and stock, and other costs associated with the recovery process.

Eligibility

The grants are available to eligible applicants for the following events and council areas:   

  • Tropical Cyclone Jasper, 13 - 28 December 2023
    • Cairns Regional Council
    • Cassowary Coast Regional Council
    • Cook Shire Council
    • Douglas Shire Council
    • Hopevale Aboriginal Shire Council (eligible for small business only)
    • Mareeba Shire Council
    • Tablelands Regional Council
    • Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Council
    • Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Council.
  • South East Queensland Severe storms and rainfall, 24 December 2023 - 3 January 2024
    • City of Gold Coast Council
    • Logan City Council 
    • Scenic Rim Regional Council .

Funding acknowledgement

The package is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments to support Queensland communities in their recovery from Tropical Cyclone Jasper, 13 - 28 December 2023 and the South East Queensland Severe storms and rainfall, 24 December 2023 - 3 January 2024.
