About the DRFA exceptional circumstances package
The Tropical Cyclone Jasper recovery operation includes a suite of exceptional circumstances funding packages has been developed to support communities, families, small businesses, primary producers and not-for-profit organisations severely impacted by the Tropical Cyclone Jasper, 13 - 28 December 2023 event.

The following DRFA exceptional circumstances package components have been announced:
Economic
$8.88 million for one-on-one case management focused on mental health and financial security, partnerships with councils and chambers of commerce to address local support needs, and grants for small businesses.
$3 million Rural Landholder Recovery Grants Program to support the extraordinary clean-up and reinstatement of rural residential properties that do not meet the criteria for primary producer assistance.
Total $9 million for Local Recovery and Resilience Grants for nine councils following Tropical Cyclone Jasper, 13 - 28 December 2023.
Extraordinary Recovery Grants for Primary Producers following Tropical Cyclone Jasper, 13 - 28 December 2023.
Extraordinary Recovery Grants for Small Business and Not-for-Profits following Tropical Cyclone Jasper, 13 - 28 December 2023.
$29.15 million Tourism Recovery and Resilience Program following the Tropical Cyclone Jasper, 13 - 28 December 2023 event.
$2.25 million for the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries to support primary producers to recover following the Tropical Cyclone Jasper.
Funding for Douglas Shire Council and Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Council to engage Recovery Project Managers following TC Jasper.
$61.215 million Water and Sewerage Infrastructure Package available to eligible local government areas in Queensland impacted by TC Jasper.
Human and Social
$22.94 million Community Health and Wellbeing, Community Recovery and Resilience Officers, Flexible Funding Grants package following TC Jasper and SEQ Severe Storms.
$9.56 million Mental Health Program to provide individual and family therapeutic interventions for impacted people following TC Jasper and the SEQ Severe Storms.
$13.931 million Wujal Wujal Targeted Assistance Package recognising the specific damage to this community following TC Jasper.
The $1.501 million Legal Assistance Disaster Relief Package Funding will provide efficient and effective legal assistance services to vulnerable and disadvantaged Queenslanders impacted by TC Jasper event.
Roads and Transport
$130 million Betterment Fund available to the nine eligible local government areas in Queensland impacted by the TC Jasper.
Environment
The $42.985 million Environmental Recovery package is for environmental and cultural recovery activities to accelerate recovery across the most heavily impacted areas.
Funding to nine local governments and state agencies for extraordinary clean-up activities following Tropical Cyclone Jasper.
$7.73 million to undertake key flood risk management activities in the Bloomfield River catchment encompassing Cook Shire, Douglas Shire and Wujal Wujal.
Building
$8.505 million Sport and Recreation Community Facilities Program will help rebuild and repair sport and recreation facilities impacted by TC Jasper.
Monitoring and Evaluation
The Monitoring and Evaluation program will monitor and review the extraordinary recovery package and assess its success in supporting disaster affected communities.
