Primary Production Industry Support - 2025 Tropical Cyclone Alfred and Associated Rainfall and Flooding

About

This $3.087 million Primary Production Industry Support fund assists the Department of Primary Industries to tailor holistic support to primary producers in activated LGAs. The funds will support medium-term recovery and enhance the long-term resilience of the primary producer industry by:

  • providing primary producers with independent, impartial and professional help to address financial stressors of the impact of a disaster event
  • supporting primary producers by helping them to recover from the impacts of the event and to build resilience to the impact of cumulative disaster events and better understand the risk and impact of disaster to their farm business
  • providing sugar cane, horticulture and broadacre primary producers with bespoke agronomic solutions to restore cultivation to full production
  • mitigating the impacts of events on mental health and build resilience with primary producers and farming communities.

The package is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments to support Queensland communities in their recovery from Tropical Cyclone Alfred and Associated Severe Weather, 1 - 16 March 2025 event.
