About the DRFA exceptional circumstances packages

The 2025 Tropical Cyclone Alfred recovery operation includes a suite of exceptional circumstances funding developed to support eligible communities, families, small businesses, primary producers and not-for-profit organisations severely impacted by the Tropical Cyclone Alfred, commencing 1 March 2025 event.

To date, the following DRFA exceptional circumstances package components have been announced:

Environment

TC Alfred - Community Relief Fund
The Community Relief Fund, jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments, is available to impacted councils to undertake essential immediate recovery activities.

Economic

Small business recovery - TC Alfred
Small Business and Non-Profit Organisation Recovery Grants of up to $25,000 have been announced following the Tropical Cyclone Alfred, commencing 1 March 2025 event.
Lockyer Valley 2025 TC Alfred
Primary Producer Disaster Recovery Grants of up to $25,000 have been announced for impacted primary producer organisations affected by Tropical Cyclone Alfred, commencing 1 March 2025 event.
Eight Mile Plains flooding TC Alfred March 2025
Recovery grants up to $10,000 have been extended to rural landholders or lessees of at least 10 hectares who sustained direct damage but can’t access other primary producer assistance

Funding acknowledgement

The package is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments to support Queensland communities in their recovery from the Tropical Cyclone Alfred, commencing 1 March 2025 event.
