Betterment Fund - 2025 Western Queensland Surface Trough

About

The $155 million Betterment Fund aims to improve future supply routes and access to Western and Central Queensland by increasing the disaster resilience of essential State-owned road assets damaged by the Western Queensland Surface Trough and Associated Rainfall and Flooding, commencing 21 March 2025.

Eligibility

This Betterment Fund is a closed round, with funding allocated to priority event damaged State roads:

  1. Central West District Roads Subprogram - $30 million
  2. South West District Roads Subprogram - $125 million

Funding acknowledgement

This Betterment Fund is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments under Category D of the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements 2018 (DRFA) to support Queensland communities in their recovery from the Western Queensland Surface Trough and Associated Rainfall and Flooding, commencing 21 March 2025.
