Sport and Recreation Recovery Program - 2025 Western Queensland Surface Trough

About

The $15 million Sport and Recreation Recovery Program will provide funding to sport and recreation organisations to undertake rebuilding and repair to sport and recreation facilities impacted by the Western Queensland Surface Trough and Associated Rainfall and Flooding, 21 March - 19 May 2025 event.

Assistance measures will:

  • assist with clean-up, repair and/or replacement of equipment and/or infrastructure/facilities
  • undertake repair and replacement works that consider the use of more resilient finishes and building techniques and materials to improve resilience of the sport and recreation infrastructure to prevent or reduce disaster related damage in the future
  • to resume service delivery to the community and contribute to the restoration of social and community networks, accelerate community recovery and relieve distress caused by the event.
